Joint Erasmus programme Parliamentary Procedures and Legislative Drafting” (EUPADRA) of LUISS (Rome) and IALS London

The application for the first intake of the new Erasmus+ Joint Master on “Parliamentary Procedures and Legislative Drafting” (EUPADRA) is now  open. The EU-Erasmus funded programme is co-organized by LUISS Guido Carli-School of Government of Rome, Complutense-Instituto de Derecho Parlamentario of Madrid and the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies of London in synergy with a wide international network of Associated Partners and supporters. The overall coordination of the initiative is led by LUISS Guido Carli.

 EUPADRA is the first Erasmus+ Programme offering a learning mobility experience in the field of parliamentary and legislative affairs. In particular, participants will spend a total of 30 weeks in 3 different European capitals, Rome, Madrid and London (10 weeks in each city), seats of National Parliaments and meeting points of private actors and NGOs.

Admitted students are top-level Master students having at least 4 years of successfully accomplished higher education in social sciences or humanities, with a proven and justified interest and general knowledge in Parliamentary Law, Constitutional Law, Comparative Law, Political Science, International Relations,and EU Studies.

 The advanced academic teachings will be integrated by team working projects, laboratories on legislative drafting, practical simulations, case study discussions and guest professional seminar series, which are designed expressly to boost professional career development of the students. 

 The teaching and training schedule of the Joint Master, which will start on October 3, 2016, at LUISS Guido Carli University, in Rome, is arranged as follows (more info atwww.eupadra.eu):

– October-December 2016: Module on “The “shape” of Parliaments in European constitutional democracies”, LUISS Guido Carli, Rome

– January-March 2017: Module on “Parliamentary procedures”, Complutense University, Madrid

– April-June 2016: Module on “Parliamentary legislative drafting”, IALS, London

– September-December 2017: Students’ internships

– February 2018: Submission of the Master Thesis

Furthermore, students will benefit from the opportunity of an internship period, selected according to their aptitudes and directed to offer a “bridge” between theory and practice.

Students successfully completing the program will receive a Master of Arts in Parliamentary procedure and legislative drafting jointly awarded by the three institutions. In addition, each student will receive a European Diploma Supplement, containing the details of the course. The MA degree will be recognized by the appropriate bodies in Italy, Spain, and the UK.
