Dear IAL associates,
At the IAL General Assembly meeting in Jakarta, we discussed new ideas to provide additional benefits for our associates. For this, we have decided to provide a twice-a-year online meeting (exclusive to associates) on global news related to legislative drafting and better regulation.
With this new IAL service, we aim to provide our associates an easy and interactive way to get worldwide updated information on legislative drafting and better regulation.
The first of these meetings was held on the 27th June 2024, the second on the 21st November 2024 and the third on the 27th May 2025. The next online meeting will be held on the 14th November 2025, at 13:00 WEST/Portuguese Time.
For this meeting, we asked our associates if there was any relevant news on legislative drafting and better regulation in your jurisdiction (the jurisdiction where you work, where you live or that you closely follow). If there is, we ask you to let us know in advance (joaotiagosilveira@fd.ulisboa.pt and felipeandrade@edu.ulisboa.pt) and prepare a very swift presentation (no more than 5 minutes) about what happened in your jurisdiction. Please bear in mind that the meeting is aimed at briefly informing our associates about what is happening in the world, not providing a detailed view of each topic.
We already have an intervention scheduled from Patricia Popelier on “Goal-based regulation”.
