The 5th Global Conference on Parliamentary Studies invites paper proposals addressing the theme “Parliaments at a Crossroads.” The conference will take place on 4–5 June 2026 in Luxembourg and at the European Parliament, organised by the Chair of Legislative Studies (University of Luxembourg), in collaboration with the International Journal of Parliamentary Studies (Brill) and Széchenyi István University.

The call welcomes contributions analysing how contemporary parliaments respond to technological change, geopolitical uncertainty, economic pressures and evolving democratic expectations, while safeguarding the rule of law and representative democracy.

  • The state of representative democracy

The deadline for paper proposals is 28 February 2026, with notification of acceptance by 15 March 2026.
