The University of Exeter has postponed the 8th conference of the Standing Group on Regulatory Governance of the European Consortium for Political Research. It will take place from June 23-25, 2021.

The conference will gather around 300 lawyers, political scientists, and sociologists. Regulatory reform, quality of legislation, and lawmaking will feature prominently in the event. It will benefit from support from our board member Dr. Claudio Radaelli’s ERC grant on Procedural Tools for Effective Governance.

Those wishing to participate can submit papers and panels directly on the conference website. The proposals already received have been confirmed in the preliminary 2021 programme by default.

The organisers are keen on discussing format and content of prospective IAL contributions. A book launch on quality of legislation is already foreseen, based on forthcoming research monographs by IAL members and those closely associated.

Everyone is encouraged to table additional proposals. They should liaise with Drs. Helen Xanthaki (h.xanthaki@ucl.ac.uk) and Claudio Radaelli (c.radaelli@ucl.ac.uk) if they would like to showcase IAL in an original format (e.g., poster sessions, panels, round tables, IAL desk with publications, invited speakers).

The local organizer is Dr. Alison Harcourt (a.harcourt@ex.ac.uk).
