This issue explores two main sets of questions. The first is what is the role of legislatures in regulating AI, and whether and how legislation can be the appropriate regulatory tool for dealing with the risks, challenges and opportunities of AI. The second set of questions is how AI would transform legislatures themselves, and what role could AI play in the operation of legislatures.
