The Instituto de Ciências Jurídico-Políticas, at the University of Lisbon School of Law, is holding a workshop on the topic Portuguese-Speaking Legislative Drafting, to be held via Zoom from 7th to 18th January 2022.

The purpose of the workshop is the presentation and comparative study of the rules of legislative drafting applicable in the legal systems of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, the Macao Special Administrative Region, São Tomé and Principe, and Timor Leste. The aim is to study the best way of drafting and systematizing legislation in the States and regions where Portuguese is the official language.

In this way, it is intended to contribute to the definition of good common practices of drafting normative acts in the Portuguese-speaking area. The workshop will have a strong practical component, through the presentation of cases of “right” and “wrong” legislative drafting and will include experts from all the jurisdictions involved.
