The International Association of Legislation is pleased to highlight the 1st Open Forum: Innovation for Regulation – Sustainable AI for Regulation, organized by the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence SUSTAIN-AI-REG at LUMSA University in Rome.
The Forum brings together scholars, regulators, legislative experts, and policymakers to reflect on the growing role of artificial intelligence in regulation, public administration, and legislative processes, with particular attention to sustainability, democratic governance, and institutional resilience.
The initiative includes three international events:
- On 5 June 2026, a hybrid forum hosted in Rome will explore the environmental impact of AI, digital empathy and cognitive bias in regulation, and European digital sovereignty in times of poly-crisis.
- On 26 June 2026, a hybrid conference at the Universitat de Barcelona, organized in collaboration with the ADMAIES Project, will examine sustainable and trustworthy AI in the public sector, AI deployment in public administration, AI for inspection activities, and AI and good administration.
- On 18 September 2026, a hybrid event co-hosted with the Sir William Dale Centre for Legislative Studies at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies of the University of London will focus on the sustainable use of AI in legislative drafting and parliamentary scrutiny.
These events address themes that are increasingly central to the work of the legislative drafting, including innovation in drafting practices, regulatory governance, and the implications of AI for democratic lawmaking.
