The International Association of Legislation (IAL) is pleased to share the detailed Call for Panels, Sessions and Roundtables for the 2nd Africa Regional Conference on Parliament and Legislation (AFRIPAL 2027), to be held in Gaborone, Botswana, on 22–23 July 2027.

Under the theme “African Parliaments in the Digital Age: Reimagining Possibilities for Better Performance and Networked Governance,” AFRIPAL 2027 will bring together scholars, parliamentary practitioners, policymakers, legislators and civil society representatives to explore the opportunities and challenges that digital transformation presents for parliamentary democracy, representation, accountability, legislative innovation and networked governance in Africa.

The organisers invite proposals for Panels, Sessions, Roundtables, Workshops, Book Launch Roundtables and Individual Papers. Panel, session and roundtable proposals should consist of a 250-word abstract, accompanied by keywords and a short biographical note.

  • Submission deadline for panel/session/roundtable proposals: 11 September 2026
  • Notification of acceptance: 25 September 2026
  • Conference dates: 22–23 July 2027
